Hi I am Mary Ann Schauerhamer Nielsen!  I started my first running club in 3rd grade where I organized an obstacle course around the school playground for my classmates at recess.  I ran for White Pine Middle School and White Pine High School in Ely, Nevada as a distance runner, where I won 10 state championships and set the state 2A record in the 3200 m as a freshman, which lasted 30 years.   In college I ran track and cross country for Southern Utah University 1996-2001 competing in the 800, mile/1500, 3000/steeple chase, and 5K.  In 2001 I set the 800m and steeple chase records as a senior.  The steeplechase record lasted 21 years!   After college, I was a volunteer coach for Cross Country at Utah Valley State College & Utah Valley University  and Track at Southern Utah University.  I have ran hundreds of road races from the mile up to the marathon, and won the Utah Valley Marathon in 2009.  I have organized several road races of my own.   I now have 2 children who share my love of running.  I would love to help you with your running goals by giving you advice or being an accountability coach!  I charge $30/hour for an in-person or phone consultation unless you come to running club, where you can get free advice any day!  Please call or text me to let me know how I can help you.  801-231-2000
